雪景色の宮島へ To the snowy scenery of Miyajima
寒波が来襲し、雪予想だった日の広島。雪景色の宮島を撮影するために、訪問をしてきました。
A cold wave hit Hiroshima on a day when snow was predicted, so I visited Miyajima to photograph the snowy landscape.

この日は以下のルートで訪問しました。
JR西日本：広島駅→（在来線：約28分）→宮島口駅
JR西日本宮島フェリー：宮島口駅→（徒歩：約6分）→宮島
JR西日本宮島フェリーで宮島観光｜大鳥居に最接近の定期船
JRグループなのでIC「ICOCA」で支払いがキャッシュレスで移動することができます。
On this day, I visited via the following route:
JR West: Hiroshima Station → (Conventional Line: Approximately 28 minutes) → Miyajimaguchi Station
JR West Miyajima Ferry: Miyajimaguchi Station → (Walk: Approximately 6 minutes) → Miyajima
Since it’s part of the JR Group, you can pay cashlessly with your ICOCA IC card.
桟橋までの移動中に、あなご飯で有名な「うえの」がありますが、
朝早くにも拘わらず店前は行列ができてました。
On the way to the pier, we passed “Ueno,” a restaurant famous for its conger eel rice.
Even though it was early in the morning, there was a line in front of the store.

JR西日本宮島フェリーのメリットはキャッシュレスだけでなく、大鳥居に近づいて宮島桟橋に到着しますので、このような景色が撮影できます。
The advantage of the JR West Miyajima Ferry is not only that it is cashless, but also that you can get close to the Great Torii Gate and arrive at Miyajima Pier, where you can take pictures of scenery like this.
宮島散策 Walking around Miyajima
さて、宮島に上陸しましたが、吹雪のような大雪となってしまいました。
みるみるうちにあたりが真っ白となります。
干潮の時間帯であったため、大鳥居の下まで行きましたが、対岸の廿日市や中国山地は見えません。
We landed on Miyajima, but a heavy snowstorm like blizzard hit.
In no time, everything was covered in white.
It was low tide, so we went up to the base of the great torii gate, but we couldn’t see Hatsukaichi or the Chugoku Mountains on the opposite shore.
厳島神社も雪景色となっています。これが目的ではありますが。。。
Itsukushima Shrine is also covered in snow. That was the purpose of the trip, though…
時折、晴れ間が見えましたので、青空と雪のコントラストに出会うことができました。
Occasionally, the sun would shine, allowing us to see the contrast between the blue sky and the snow.
宮島の鹿たち Miyajima’s deers
真冬の鹿たちはどうすごしているんだろうと思い山側に歩みを進めると、鹿の群れに出会うことができました。
Wondering how deer spend their time in the middle of winter, I headed up the mountain and came across a herd of deer.
餌を食べたり、毛づくろい、昼寝など、さまざまな過ごし方をしていました。
オスは力比べをして見ごたえもありました。真冬ですが鹿たちは元気でした。
They spent their time in a variety of ways, such as eating, grooming, and napping.
The males also had a spectacular strength contest. Even though it was the middle of winter, the deer were in high spirits.
あなご飯 Conger eel rice
宮島はあなご飯が名物となっています。数あるお店の中で、今回は錦水館さんの食事処『まめたぬき』さんのあなご飯をいただきました。
あなご飯の多くはタレ焼きで仕上げるのですが、こちらのお店のあなご飯は容器ごと蒸し上げるのでとてもあなごが柔らかく、また陶器製の器の保温力が良く最後までアツアツで楽しめるので、冬にはピッタリだと思いました。
あなご飯単体でも注文できますが。今回は「穴子と牡蠣フライの共演セット」にしました。
＋￥300でカキフライが３個ついてきます。
穴子と牡蠣 宮島 まめたぬき
Conger eel rice is a specialty of Miyajima. Of the many restaurants, I tried the conger eel rice at Kinsuikan’s restaurant, Mametanuki.
Most conger eel rice is grilled with sauce, but the conger eel rice at this restaurant is steamed in the container, which makes the conger eel very tender. The ceramic container also retains heat well, so it stays piping hot until the very end, making it perfect for winter.
You can order conger eel rice on its own, but this time I went for the “Conger eel and fried oysters set.”
For an additional 300 yen, you can get three fried oysters.

宮島大鳥居、厳島神社、鹿たちはデジタル一眼カメラを使用しています。
＜機材＞
・ニコン デジタルカメラ D850
・ニコン AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR
高画素機、明るいレンズ、AF精度、スピードも良く気に入っています。
難点を上げるとすれば、大きい、重いですが、明るいレンズはレンズの塊なので仕方ないですね。
I used a digital SLR camera to photograph the Miyajima Otorii Gate, Itsukushima Shrine, and deer.

I really like the high pixel count, bright lens, and AF accuracy and speed.
If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that it’s big and heavy, but that’s unavoidable since a bright lens is a large piece of glass.
